“Cupid draw back your bow and let your arrow go straight to my lover’s heart for me” –Sam Cooke 1961
As Cupid’s day draws near, Valentine’s Day, join your fellow members for a morning to be remembered with a musical twist. Langley Saxon’s choir, featuring the Madrigals Choral Group, will perform, one of the finest high school choirs in our area. Mac Lambert is in his 16th year as the Director of Choral Activities at Langley High School. Dr. Lambert has been an active singer in the Washington, D.C. area. He performed with the Woodley Ensemble and was the featured conductor of their recording entitled, “The Old Hymns.” Dr. Lambert also sang for many years in the choirs of Washington National Cathedral. In March of 2016, all four of the Langley Choirs attending the WorldStrides Music Festival in Hollywood, Ca., were awarded gold medals. Three of them also won first place in their divisions. In addition, the Madrigals, Chamber, and the Concert Choir received Adjudicator’s Awards for having an average score of 95 or higher. The Madrigals were awarded the Outstanding Choral Group trophy for having the highest score of any choir in the festival and Langley also won the Choral Sweepstakes Award for having the two highest scoring choirs in the festival.
