This Month's book discussion will be "Travels with Charley" by John Steinbeck
This is an entertaining travelogue of Steinbeck’s four-month journey across America with his standard poodle, Charley. At age 58, Steinbeck sets out to explore first-hand the America he had written about during his career and seeks to understand the changes that were happening in 1960. He writes Charley with complex human traits and emotions, adding dimension and humor to his described experiences. The meeting will be at the home of Diana P.

We get together on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 1:00 PM. Our titles are chosen based on member suggestions, and we have quite a varied slate: fiction and non-fiction, classic and current, bios, science, social science, history, mystery, travel.
